Moldovan state to provide compensations to political repressions' victims

Chisinau, 2 November /MOLDPRES/ - Victims of the political repressions will benefit from compensations for the recovery of the values of the assets confiscated, nationalized or taken from their possession. The cabinet approved a ruling to this end today.

Under the document, the Finance Ministry will earmark 10.6 million lei for 110 beneficiaries of 21 districts from means provided for in the 2016 state budget.

At the same time, another five persons will benefit from financial means worth one million lei, in line with the decision on payment of compensation to persons subjected to political repressions and afterwards rehabilitated, who turned 75.

The transfers will be made to budgets of the second-level administrative and territorial units.

At the same time, the draft sees that, if the assets’ value does not exceed the sum of 200,000 lei, the payment of compensation may be distributed for a period of up to three years, and in case its exceeds 200,000 lei – for a period up to five years.

Finance Minister Octavian Armasu said that “financial means worth 16 million lei are provided for in the state budget on the purpose for this year.”
