Turkey interested in developing economic relations with Moldova

Chisinau, 3 November /MOLDPRES/ – Turkey is interested in developing economic relations with Moldova on all dimensions, including the implementation of investment projects with the participation of companies from Moldova and Turkey. A statement to this effect was made today by Turkish Ambassador to Moldova Hulusi Kiliç at the meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Octavian Calmic, Minister of Economy.
The Ministry of Economy’s information and media communication service has reported that by the opinion of Ankara diplomat, on Turkey's interest to deepen bilateral talks, tells the entry into force from 1 November 2016 the Free Trade Agreement between Moldova and Turkey, providing new opportunities initiation of mutually beneficial projects, both for industries of Moldova and Turkey, as well as on the agricultural and food products.
At his part, Deputy Prime Minister Octavian Calmic said that Turkey was always a strategic partner for Moldova, as demonstrated by the presence of Turkish companies in the top 10 states with the largest foreign direct investment in the national economy, and the entry into force of the Free Trade Agreement would not only allow diversification of trade, but also initiate new bilateral projects with the prospect of export goods, both on the market in West and the East.
The Minister of Economy, referring to the intensification of bilateral cooperation, said that after the entry into force of the Free Trade Agreement between Moldova and Turkey and the Action Plan adopted by the Government of Moldova on improving the socio-economic Autonomous Territorial unit of Gagauzia, for the period 2016-2019, there were new opportunities for realization of investment projects in this region, involving Turkish capital.
In this context, the officials noted that the Investment Forum "Invest Gagauzia-2016", taking place on Saturday, 5 November, in Comrat and the meeting of Deputy Prime Minister Octavian Calmic with his Turkish counterpart Tuğrul Türkeş would be an opportunity to establish new bilateral cooperation programs.
