NATO experts offer consultancy to Moldova in elaborating Military Strategy

Chisinau, 4 November /MOLDPRES/- A group of NATO experts provides assistance to national specialists in elaborating and structuring the future Military Strategy of Moldova.
A press release by the Defence Ministry notes that on 31 October-4 November 2016, the NATO expert group had meetings with representatives of subdivisions of the Defence Ministry and General Headquarters. The talks were focused on elaboration and structure of the future Military Strategy of Moldova, as well as analysis of security environment in military terms of the country and its impact on setting goals and action directions of the Armed Forces.
The military strategy is carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Defence Capacity Building Initiative (DCBI), which Moldova joined in September 2014 within NATO Summit in Wales. The initiative sees providing assistance by NATO for analyzing the current defense capacity of Moldova and identifying sectors, due to be developed.
The military strategy is a document referring to the development of the Armed Forces, and represents the commitments made by the government for an average time.
The strategy makes an analysis of security environment, military risks, military targets, capabilities and priorities, concepts of use of the Armed Forces, tasks of force categories, force structure, training and equipping, as well as resources needed to meet the goals of the document.
