Wine festival organised in Gagauzia

Chisinau, 6 November /MOLDPRES/- The best winemakers from Gagauz-Yeri were honored at a today’s ceremony organized by the authorities of autonomy. Attending the event were representatives of the region, as well as guests from Turkey and Russia.

All settlements of the autonomy have been involved in organizing the issue of the Wine Festival of Gagauz-Yeri (“Gagauz Sarap Yortusu-2016”).

“Each village differs by something, and the people have the opportunity to prove what they have and can better within this event. The agenda is full of master classes for folk dances, pottery, cooperage, etc,” the head of the Main Directorate of culture and tourism of Gagauzia, Vasilisa Petrovici, said.

At the same time, the government from Comrat organized an action program meant to promote values and culture of the region, including the traditional methods of vine growing and wine production. Bashkan Irina Vlah welcomed the delegations with food specialties of Gagauzia and mulled wine.

The festival «Gagauz şarap yortusu - 2016» was carried out with the support of the National Office of Vine and Wine under the aegis of the programme “Vinul Moldovei. O legenda vie” (Moldovan wine. Living legend).
