PARE 1+1 programme committee approves financing of 31 investment projects in Moldova

Chisinau, 7 November /MOLDPRES/ - The supervision committee of the programme on attraction of remittances to the economy, PARE 1+1, today approved the financing of 31 investment projects. The total sum of the grant for these investment projects is 6.03 million lei, which will help attract 17.32 million lei to the national economy.  

The Economics Ministry’s press service has said that, according to the director of the Organization for Small and Medium Enterprises Sector Development (ODIMM), Iulia Iabanji, 29 per cent of all projects accepted for financing are created by migrant workers, who returned from abroad, and 71 per cent were made by their first-degree relatives. “Nineteen of the projects accepted for financing are created and managed by young people. Their implementation will contribute to the creation of about 130 new jobs,” Iabanji said.  

According to ODIMM data, 19 of all applications of non-refundable financing are started in agriculture and are oriented to different types of work, among which cultivation of cereals and vine, growing plants and animals, apiculture, etc. and eight enterprises work in the services provision sector and four enterprises in the processing industry. The analysis of remittances’ origin shows that the 31 applicants invest financial sources coming from the work carried out in nine states, including Italy, Russia, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Romania, Georgia, Spain, etc.      

As many as 114 applications for non-refundable financing worth 22.35 million lei have been approved in 2016; they will contribute to making cumulative investments worth over 68.5 million lei. In May – October 2016, 195 beneficiaries were trained, including ones registered in the programme in previous years too.
