Moldovan customs service to free of charge benefit from most recent version of ASYCUDA World soft

Chisinau, 7 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Customs Service (SV) will free of charge benefit from the most recent version of the application software, ASYCUDA World, in order to develop the customs information system. SV Director General Vitalie Vrabie and Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Joakim Reiter signed a memorandum of understanding to this end in Geneva today.
According to a press release by the Customs Service, the memorandum provides for the launch of negotiations between the EU Delegation to Moldova and United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, in order to finance and implement new moduli in the information system, especially the new computerized system of transit of the single desk, commitment taken in the Association Agreement.
The ASYCUDA software will optimize the activities of the national customs system, by applying the European standards and best practices in the customs administration sector. The application implies a high level of security of the stocked information, as well as exchange of information in electronic format with authorities.
Also, UNCTAD will provide the Customs Service with strategic and technical assistance, support and training in the use of the customs information system.
The memorandum of understanding is signed for a five-year term.
