Moldovan electoral body increases number of ballot papers' copies

Chisinau, 9 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today ruled to increase the number of ballot paper’s copies for more polling stations of Moldova and from abroad.
According to CEC head Alina Russu, following the changes operated, as many as 3,165,636 ballot papers will be printed for the presidential polls’ runoff. “The number of ballot papers has been increased in the 30 polling stations opened for the citizens with residence in the administrative and territorial units from the left bank of Dniester and in four polling stations from abroad: Tallinn (Estonia), Riga (Latvia), Vilnius (Lithuania) and Ferrara (Italy),” Russu said.
“The number of ballot papers was increased up to the maximal limit, i. e. 3,000 copies, at all these polling stations,” the CEC head noted.
The direct presidential elections’ runoff will take place on 13 November. The citizens will be able to elect between the candidates who picked up most votes in the first round of the polls: the leader of the Party of Socialists, Igor Dodon and the leader of the Action and Solidarity Party, Maia Sandu.
