Chisinau, 10 November /MOLDPRES/- Romania will provide assistance to Moldovan authorities in reforming justice. Romanian Justice Minister Raluca-Alexandra Prună made the statements at a today’s Moldovan-Romanian forum in justice sector titled: “Justice reform and fight against corruption in European perspective”.

“Romania’s experiences in justice reform will be shared to Moldovan authorities, as we started from the stage of combating corruption at central level, after which the other reforms continued. Without a truly independent justice, a state cannot be modernized. You have every support on behalf of Romanian judicial leadership in order to be able to implement important reforms in this sector and even we can be very good partners in this European integration you initiated,” Raluca-Alexandra Prună said.

For his part, Justice Minister of Moldova Vladimir Cebotari said that the way of carrying out the reforms in judicial system from Romania represented an example for Moldova and “will serve as a guide in implementing new European practices”.

“We are in the process of setting up the administration council of National Integrity Authority, a less complicated process. I believe that experience of Romanian colleagues will help us change more things in the judicial system in Moldova,” Cebotari said.

The Moldovan-Romanian forum in justice sector will be held during two days in Chisinau. Attending the event are 45 representatives of Romanian judicial sector, including chief prosecutor of the National Anticorruption Department Laura Codruta Kovesi.
