Chisinau, 12 November /MOLDPRES/ - The electoral contenders today and tomorrow are banned from making electoral propaganda for the presidential polls due on 13 November.
On these two days, it is not allowed to carry out and cover activities, materials with aspects of electoral propaganda, and the candidates are also not allowed to come to TV and radio programmes. Also, the electoral competitors cannot make transfers to and from the account titled, Electoral Fund.
Continuing the electoral propaganda on the aforementioned days represents administrative offence and is sanctioned with fine worth from 10 to 20 conventional units ( from 505 to 1,010 lei), imposed to a private person, and from 40 to 50 conventional units (from 2,020 to 2,525 lei), imposed to the electoral contender.
At the same time, the concerned ban does not refer to the already placed information in the Internet and the earlier displayed posters.
The direct presidential elections’ runoff will take place in Moldova on 13 November, after on 30 October, neither of the candidates recorded in the electoral race managed to pick up the needed votes. The candidate on behalf of the Party of Communists, Igor Dodon, who got 47.98 per cent of the ballots in the first round, and the candidate on behalf of the Action and Solidarity Party, Dignity and Truth Platform Party and Liberal Democratic Party, Maia Sandu, who grabbed 38.71 per cent of the votes, will run in this race.
