Association of observers finds new violations on presidential election runoff conduct in Moldova

Chisinau, 13 November /MOLDPRES/ – Association Promo – LEX has noticed new violations in the conduct of the presidential election runoff. The statement declaration was made today by the chairman of the organization and the chief of the observers’ mission Promo – LEX Pavel Postica, at a press conference.
According to the cited source, observers noted ten cases of corruption of voters in Gagauzia, Chisinau, Floresti and Italy. "At the same time, there were settled 18 cases of electioneering near polling stations, and voters organized transportation – almost 30 cases that took place in Gagauzia, Chisinau, Anenii Noi, Dubasari, Causeni, Rezina, Edinet, Ungheni and Straseni," said Postica.
At the same time, observers found 13 cases of violence or intimidation of voters in: Chisinau, Orhei and Hincesti. "In commune Step – Soci, Orhei district, one observer was struck by the mayor after he had been accused that he would have transported voters in an organized manner," specified Postica.
At the same time, it was certified unjustified presence of people around polling stations, keeping improper ballots and cases of delivery of a greater number of them.
Also, in at least 22 cases observers have reported deficiencies in electoral lists, and the other six cases was established deficiencies in the RSA Registru. It was observed a significant number of taking pictures of ballots.
According to observers, they have been also identified cases when citizens were forced to vote, so that subsequently to submit documents confirming that they had voted. In this regard, the mission reported those to the Central Election Commission (CEC) and security forces.
For the presidential election runoff, Promo-LEX accredited around two thousand observers in Moldova and almost forty abroad.
