Moldovan association finds out large number of organized transportations to polling stations

Chisinau, 13 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Promo-LEX association has found out a large number of organized transportations of voters to polling stations. The director of the organization, head of the Promo-LEX observers’ mission Pavel Postica made statements to this effect drew at a news conference today.

According to Postica, observers found out a case of placing advertising panels at a distance of less than 100 metres from ballot boxes. “In six cases, attempts of offering material support were discovered, including in the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia, Chisinau, Floresti and Dubasari. At the same time, cases of electoral propaganda and black PR were recorded at 11 polling stations; it is about Leova, Soldanesti, Orhei, Ungheni, Briceni and Cimislia. Also, organized transportation of voters were registered in 27 cases: in Gagauzia, Chisinau, Stefan Voda, Floresti, Rezina, Causeni, Iasi, Brasov (Romania), St. Petersburg (Russia),” Postica said.

Also, Promo-LEX observers found out six cases of violence or intimidation in Chisinau and Balti. “Unjustified presence of unauthorized persons nearby polling stations – in Chisinau, Ungheni and Cahul - has been established in 12 cases. In another 12 cases, we discovered that ballot boxes were not sealed properly, and in about ten cases, the ballot papers were not kept in a safe place,” Postica noted.

According to Promo-LEX representatives, in at least 22 cases, voters signaled deficiencies in electoral lists, and in another 16 cases, we registered deficiencies in the work of the Registru (Register) electronic programme. A larger number of photographing ballot papers is recorded: 60 cases. Two attempts of issuing a larger number of ballot papers were registered too.

At the same time, some polling stations temporarily ceased working because of power disconnection.

The Promo-LEX association accredited about 2,000 observers in Moldova and about 40 ones abroad for the presidential polls’ runoff.
