Moldovan electoral body processes about 70 per cent of reports

Chisinau, 13 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has informed about the processing of about 70 per cent of the reports.
According to CEC data, the candidate of the Party of Socialists (PSRM), Igor Dodon, picked up 57.85 per cent of the votes, while the contender of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), Dignity and Truth Platform Party (PPDA) and Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM), Maia Sandu, got 42.15 per cent of the ballots.
At the same time, the Commission said that the voter turnout at the presidential polls, which ended at 21:00, was of 1.6 million citizens (more than 53 per cent of the residents with right to vote).
Presently, 17 polling stations are still opened outside Moldova. At the same time, another five polling stations from abroad of Tel Aviv (Israel), Bucharest (Romania) and Treviso (Italy) extended their activity.
Also, another two polling stations from the Chisinau and Balti municipalities remain opened.
On 14 November at 10:00, CEC will unveil the preliminary results of the polls’ runoff. During five days, the Commission is to totalize the outcomes of the presidential elections’ runoff.
