Preliminary data of presidential elections unveiled by observers' association differ from electoral body's ones

Chisinau, 14 November /MOLDPRES/- Preliminary data of results of the 13 November presidential elections, unveiled today by Promo-LEX Association, differ from those announced by the Central Election Commission (CEC).

Under calculations of Promo-LEX Association, carried out in parallel with the CEC’s ones, 826178 citizens (55.5 per cent) would have voted for candidate on behalf of PSRM Igor Dodon, and 712189 persons (44.5 per cent) – for common right-wing candidate (PAS, PPDA, PLDM) Maia Sandu. According to the preliminary data by CEC, Igor Dodon picked up 52.29 per cent, and Maia Sandu – 47.71 per cent.

Also, the Promo-LEX displayed a lower rate (52.3 per cent) of citizens at the vote than the one presented by CEC (53 per cent).

Promo-LEX head Pavel Postica said that many violations had been registered, such as: “cases on corruption of voters, displaying election campaigning near the polling stations, organized transportation of electors, intimidation of citizens, unjustified presence of people near the polling stations, inadequately keeping ballot papers, shortcomings in electoral rolls etc.”

For the 13 November elections, Promo-LEX Association had 1,981 static observers, 36 short term observers and 42 long term observers who worked outside polling stations.
