Two Moldovan right-wing parties to submit infringements occurred in runoff to Constitutional Court

Chisinau, 14 November /MOLDPRES/ - Representatives of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) and Dignity and Truth Platform Party (PPDA) will submit to the Constitutional Court (CC) the infringements occurred during the presidential polls’ runoff. PAS leader Maia Sandu, and PPDA chairman Andrei Nastase made statements to this effect at a news conference today.     

“I thank all citizens who trusted me. We made an extraordinary effort and we proved that people want a different policy, a policy made with common sense. I respect the people who voted for my opponent; yet, time will show the real intentions of this man,” Maia Sandu said.  

According to the PAS leader, the presidential elections were neither fair, nor free. “My opponents used ways of manipulation, lies, administrative resources, dirty money and mass media to misinform the society. We ask for the resignation of the head of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), Alina Russu and Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur for the fact of violating the constitutional right of the citizens from Diaspora to vote. We will use all legal levers to clarify each incident; afterwards we will present to CCM evidence of the infringements committed in the electoral process and will already wait for a final decision,” Maia Sandu said.    

PPDA chairman Andrei Nastase offered thanks to the citizens from Moldova and Diaspora for mobilization. “Unfortunately, this vote had been stolen before the electoral process started. We saw what happened in this campaign, where the lie stood at the head of the table. People were brought to elections in an organized way, being corrupted for a ballot. We will accumulate all data and will submit more contestations. Subsequently, we will come up with a message on our further actions,” Nastase said.  

Direct presidential elections took place in Moldova on 13 November. CEC said that, after 100 per cent of the reports had been processed, the candidate of the Party of Socialists, Igor Dodon, picked up 52.18 per cent of the votes and the contender of PAS, PPDA and Liberal Democratic Party, Maia Sandu, got 47.82 per cent of the ballots.
