Chisinau, 16 November /MOLDPRES/- The ballot papers reported lost during transportation to Portugal were returned today to the Central Election Commission (CEC).
CEC secretary Rodica Ciubotaru said the diplomatic bag had been returned and unsealed. “In all, there were 6,000 ballot papers. Subsequently, they were transported to printing house for destruction in presence of the commission’s members and media,” Ciubotaru said.
On election day, CEC ordered to reprint the ballots for two out of the four polling stations from Portugal, after the bag was qualified as lost by airline transportation company.
Over 3.1 million ballot papers were printed for the runoff of the presidential elections of 13 November.
