Moldovan cabinet adapts law on electronic commerce to EU regulations

Chisinau, 16 November /MOLDPRES/ – Government approved today a bill on amendment of Law on Electronic Commerce, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The project is to eliminate loopholes in national legal and regulatory framework and the new rules in the light of European legislation and in accordance with the Association Agreement between Moldova and EU. Applying these measures will offer more possibilities to develop e – commerce in Moldova.
An important aspect in this regard is to stimulate companies’ growth, increasing investment in innovation, which develops due to electronic systems and strengthens the competitiveness of institutions of all levels in Moldova.
The public institution as a centre of information for those interested in electronic commerce will be the Consumer Protection Agency.
It is worth to outline that, with Association Agreement signing, which includes Free Trade Agreement, Moldova undertook to implement EU legislation and practice in several areas, including in electronic commerce.
The respective draft law is to be reviewed and approved by the Parliament.
