Chisinau, 17 November /MOLDPRES/- The German embassy donated today a consignment of special playback equipment to the Association of Blind People in Moldova.
It is about 20 computers, 50 tape recorders, 50 radios, a video camera, a camera, speakers and furniture for computers.
The deputy head of the German embassy, Florian Seitz, said that the Moldovan authorities should pay increased attention to this category of people, in order to be able to integrate in society in an easier way.
“Blind people should benefit from support on behalf of the state in order to enjoy the same privileges as other citizens. Germany will further back this category of people, thus, we planned to finance other ten projects amounting to 8,000 euros for 2017,” Seitz said.
The association’s representatives thanked the embassy noting that “the donated equipment will ease the work and possibility to get informed on events happening in society.”
The donation is estimated at 8,000 euros, provided by the German embassy, within micro-project “Free access to information and education for blind people in Moldova”.
