Moldovan electoral body notifies law enforcement bodies on attempt to repeatedly vote

Chisinau, 18 November /MOLDPRES/- The Central Election Commission (CEC) notified the General Police Inspectorate on cases on attempt to repeatedly vote in runoff of the presidential elections.
According to the CEC press service, over 20 citizens tried to vote repeatedly on election day.
The cases have been identified due to the state automated information system “Elections”, module “Turnout”.
CEC notes that the 20 attempts of multiple voting were notified and made public even on election day (one case in Anenii Noi and three ones in Briceni), the other ones were identified after checking the data base of the electoral information systems.
On 13 November 2016, the runoff of the direct presidential elections took place in Moldova. CEC announced that after processing 100 per cent of reports, PSRM candidate Igor Dodon picked up 52.18 per cent, and contender of PAS, PPDA, PLDM Maia Sandu got 47.82 per cent of votes.
