Moldovan PM chairs meeting of inter-ministerial committee on strategic planning

Chisinau, 18 November /MOLDPRES/- The second meeting of the Inter-ministerial Committee on Strategic Planning (CIPS), chaired by Prime Minister Pavel Filip, was held on 17 November 2016. The premier welcomed that it had been managed to return to the format of permanent meetings of CIPS, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
CIPS members debated more issues related to the development projects that were ongoing and were to be launched with assistance of the foreign partners. Thus, they considered issues focused on preparing the project Modernization of Government Services in Moldova, funded by the World Bank, more exactly, the measures for ensuring transition to this project from the e-government project, which expired in late 2016.
At the same time, it was accepted a proposal by the Education Ministry on reorganizing the project on education reform in Moldova, funded by the World Bank, in terms of restoring the educational institutions. Thus, a part of responsibilities of the ministry, as an implementer of the project, will be conveyed to the Moldova Social Investment Fund (FISM) having higher experience in the field. In this context, 12 million dollars will be transferred to FISM for restoring 15 schools, which will be selected by the Inter-ministerial Coordination Council for monitoring the restoration process.
The participants in the meeting also considered the project proposals on implementation of SMURD service in Moldova, as well as a list of investment projects, which will be promoted for a new framework of strategic partnership with the World Bank for 2018-2022.
The Inter-ministerial Committee on Strategic Planning is made up of members of the government and representatives of the central public authorities, and aims at ensuring an integrated process of strategic planning, in which the national priorities should be efficiently correlated with the policies elaborated by the specialty central bodies of public administration, international commitments and internal and external resources.
