More Moldovan employees, former government officials detained today

Chisinau, 22 November /MOLDPRES/- Seven persons were detained today after searches conducted by the officers of the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA) and anticorruption prosecutors. The actions have been made in a case of corruption on attempts of illegal land alienation.

CNA’s press service head Angela Starinschi said “among those escorted to the CNA’s headquarters are: former deputy agriculture and food minister and department head of the same ministry, department head of the Land Relations and Cadastre Agency, former justice minister and ex-head of National Investigations Inspectorate,” Starinschi said.

At the same time, Anticorruption Prosecution’s head Viorel Morari noted that the actions were currently carried out. “We cannot offer more details as not to prejudice the investigation. We will come up with additional information later,” Morari said.
