Moldovan cabinet approves new measures to prevent, control transmissible diseases

Chisinau, 23 November /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet today approved a regulation on the system of early warning and quick response for the prevention, control of transmissible diseases and public health events. The document’s goal is to establish a viable warning system, necessary to early discover the risks of contraction of a disease and limiting the spread of transmissible diseases, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The regulation provides for a string of actions of informing, consultation and cooperation, due to be undertaken by the authorities in crisis situations, among which permanent and quick exchange of information, starting epidemiological investigations and laboratory researches, diminishing the impact and liquidation of consequences. At the same time, the document sets the need of informing the residents about the ways of individual protection, no matter the level of warning and promoting measures of preventing the contraction of diseases till the emergency situation is cancelled.
The system of early warning and quick response represents an integral part of the national system of supervision and control of transmissible diseases and public health events; the system is meant for maintaining the safety and security of residents’ health.
