"Made in Moldova" exhibition to be held in Romania

Chisinau, 25 November /MOLDPRES/- An exhibition “Made in Moldova” will be carried out for the first time ever in Iasi, Romania, on 25-27 November. It aims at supporting and facilitating the trade relations between producers from Moldova and business partners from Romania, as well as identifying potential investors from neighboring country.
Sources in the Moldova Investment and Export Promotion Organisation (MIEPO) noted that about 70 companies from Moldova would stage a wide range of agricultural products and processed food, clothing and footwear, leather goods and accessories, furniture and joinery products, etc. In the context, MIEPO will contribute to staging products of local brands, with stand “From the Heart” (“Din inima”).
The event’s agenda will also include the organization of a Moldovan-Romanian bilateral business forum, where MIEPO will present investment opportunities of Moldova and will provide support to Moldovan entrepreneurs within the meetings in order to explore partnership opportunities and initiate investment projects.
The exhibition is organized as a result of signing the partnership agreement on mutual promotion of local producers, signed in early November between Iasi, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Moldova, Bilateral Chamber of Commerce and Industry Moldova-Romania and MIEPO.
About 1,600 enterprises with Romanian capital are recorded in Moldova, which represents 16 per cent of enterprises with foreign capital registered in the country, with investment of about 143 million dollars.
Under the statistics data, the trade exchange between Moldova and Romania amounted to about 750 million dollars in January-October 2016. In the same period, the export increased by 6.8 per cent and the import decreased by 9.8 per cent.
