Moldovan Socialists ask hearings in case on perished food products delivered to schools, kindergartens

Chisinau, 25 November /MOLDPRES/- Representatives of the institutions responsible for public food sector will be heard in the parliament in a case on providing schools and kindergartens with food products. The decision was taken at a today's parliament meeting.
The initiative came up from the Socialists, and later was supported by other parliamentary factions.
The MPs asked Prime Minister Pavel Filip, Health Minister, Education Minister, head of the National Anticorruption Centre and representatives of the National Food Safety Agency for being present in the parliament. At the same time, Speaker Andrian Candu announced that the parliament’s standing bureau was to set a list of institutions for inviting them to report in the parliament, and the hearings would take place next week.
The National Anticorruption Centre and Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office detained 18 people on 24 November in a case on rigging public tenders on providing schools and kindergartens with food products. In all, 23 persons have the status of accused in this case and are to be heard.
