Made in Moldova exhibition inaugurated in Iasi, Romania, first time ever

Chisinau, 25 November /MOLDPRES/ - About 70 Moldovan companies from the sectors of food industry, textiles, constructions, etc. displayed their goods at the Made in Moldova exhibition, staged in the Romanian city of Iasi for the first time ever on 25-27 November. The event is aimed at creating friendly conditions for backing Moldovan producers and promoting the country’s image, according to the press service of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI).
Attending the opening of the exhibition, CCI head Sergiu Harea stressed that “Moldova’s cooperation with Romania fits into parameters of a good-neighbour relation. This event allows native economic agents tapping new Romanian markets, promoting products and signing cooperation contracts,” Harea said.
Iasi mayor Mihai Chirica stressed that the exhibition was welcome, as Moldovan goods are of a good quality and are worth being purchased. “Although the trade between our states has witnessed a slight decrease in the last time, we appreciate the goods made in Moldova and support the neighbour economic agents,” Chirica noted.
Deputy Prime Minister, Economics Minister Octavian Calmic also welcomed the participants in the exhibition. He emphasized that the “Made in Moldova exhibition, staged in Iasi, was a lively proof that the commercial ties, and not only between our states, were closely connected. Both the government of Moldova and the one of Romania back the business environment and will continue creating friendly conditions for its development,” Octavian Calmic said.
The exhibition’s agenda includes a Moldovan-Romanian forum, with participation of more than 150 companies, as well as meetings of the business environments from the two countries.
The Made in Moldova exhibition is organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Moldova, Moldovan Investment Attraction and Export Promotion Organization, Iasi city hall, Bilateral Chamber of Commerce Moldova-Romania, with the support of representatives of central public bodies from the two countries.
