Chisinau, 1 December /MOLDPRES/- The National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova (CNSM) today announced it will organize protests if the authorities do not take into account its proposals on pension reform.
According to the CNSM’s press service, the authorities would not have taken into account the proposals of trade unionists previously submitted during public consultations. “Trade unionists did not support rules proposed in the draft providing for increase in retirement age for men and women, in length of employment, pension indexation only based on the consumer price index and only when it will exceed 2 per cent, as well as cancellation of financial support for beneficiaries,” a press release reads.

The Labour, Social Protection and Family Ministry presented a draft law on pension reform for public consultation this week. The document sees increase in retirement age, in length of employment, initiation of a new formula for calculating pension, as well as unification of methodology for calculating social insurance pension for certain categories of citizens.
