Moldovan disabled persons to benefit from material assistance

Chisinau, 3 December /MOLDPRES/ - As much as 15 million 242,600 lei has been earmarked to provide material assistance to socially vulnerable disabled people, on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, marked on 3 December.
The press service of the Labour, Social Protection and Family Ministry said that the aid would be distributed through local funds for residents’ social assistance, and the leadership bodies of these institutions will set the criteria and the way the beneficiaries are to be selected, as well as the size of the material assistance. The beneficiaries of the material assistance will be determined by public commissions for assessing the needs of providing material assistance at mayoralties, according to the criteria of selection.
In Chisinau, as many as 908 people with audition deficiencies will benefit from assistance worth 500 lei each, according to lists presented by the Chisinau territorial branch of the Deaf Men Association of Moldova, and 915 persons with visual impairment will receive 1,000 lei each, according to the lists submitted by the Chisinau territorial organization of the Blind Men Society.
As much as 16 million 611,500 lei will be distributed to 39,900 beneficiaries in all.
