National agency for public healthcare to be founded by reorganizing several specialized institutions in Moldova

Chisinau, 30 August /MOLDPRES/ – The Cabinet of Ministers approved a draft decision on the creation of the National Agency for Public Health by reorganizing several authorities in the field today, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

The document aims to ensure a functional, restructured and consolidated institutional system in the field of public healthcare, separation of policy, implementation functions and concentration of healthcare control functions, in line with the previously approved Concept on Reform of the Public Healthcare Surveillance Service.

The National Agency for Public Healthcare is to be created through the merger of more institutions: the National Healthcare Management Centre, National Council for Healthcare Evaluation and Accreditation, National Public Healthcare Centre and Territorial Public Healthcare Centres, with the transfer to the new authority of the Control of other healthcare institutions.

The employees will be transferred to the National Public Healthcare Agency, following the merger of these entities, patrimony, current budgets of the institutions.

The reorganization is to take place within around two months.
