Moldovan electoral body announces total number of people included in State Register of Voters

Chisinau, 1 September /MOLDPRES/- The Central Election Commission (CEC) announced today that the total number of people included in the State Register of Voters on 1 September 2017 represents over 3.2 million citizens.

According to CEC, women represent 52.67 per cent (1.7 million people) and 47.33 per cent men (1.5 million people).

Of the total, only 2.8 million citizens eligible to vote are assigned to constituencies.

Thus, the difference includes people who hold the citizenship of Moldova, but without registration at home or residence and citizens with voting right who have their domicile registered in the administrative-territorial units of Transnistria, which are temporarily outside the sovereign control of the constitutional authorities of the country.
