Century’s quarter since establishment of Moldovan-Latvian diplomatic relations

Chisinau, 01 September /MOLDPRES/ – On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Moldova and Latvia, Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Galbur, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and Latvian Foreign Minister, Edgars Rinkēvičs exchanged greeting cards today, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.

The Moldovan diplomat's message states that during the 25 years of diplomatic relations, the Moldovan-Latvian political dialogue has intensified and bilateral cooperation between states has been developed in various areas of mutual interest. Minister Andrei Galbu expressed his conviction that that opportunity was not only a celebration but also a good one for promoting new opportunities for cooperation between Moldova and Latvia. "The Republic of Moldova highly appreciates the support received from the Republic of Latvia in the process of European integration," says the message.

At his turn, Latvian counterpart, Edgars Rinkēvičs, appreciated the good relations of friendship and bilateral cooperation in the 25 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations. Minister Rinkēvičs mentioned that the Republic of Latvia would continue to support the close ties of the Republic of Moldova with the European Union and help to facilitate the reform process by providing the necessary expertise while expressing the conviction that the partnership to continue in the future.

The diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Latvia were established on 01 September 1992.
