Investments in industrial parks exceed MDL 1.1 billion in Moldova

Chisinau, 02 September /MOLDPRES/ – The investments in industrial parks have exceeded MDL 1.1 billion/over €50 million, after an increase of MDL 53.4 million in the first half of 2017, the economy and infrastructure ministry’s communications and public relations department has stated.
The first industrial park was created by the Government decision in 2011 at Drochia, followed by the opening of the largest Tracom industrial park on the basis of the former tractor plant. Currently, there are 10 industrial parks in Moldova, where operate 60 economic agents, two of them in Chisinau municipality: Tracom and FAIP, and two in Straseni, CAAN and Cavi Divelopment Trivente, as well as one in Balti municipality and cities: Cimislia, Edinet, Comrat, Drochia and Cahul.
According to the Department for investment and competitive policy (DPIC) of the MEI, the production volume achieved by the industrial park residents increased by over 43 per cent up to MDL 781.3 million in the first six months of 2017. Also, the volume of taxes and fees which was paid by residents doubled its amount.
On 30 June, there were 2714 people active in industrial parks, by 559 more compared to the same period of 2016.
