Chisinau, 4 September /MOLDPRES/- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova condemns the nuclear test conducted by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on 3 September 2017. This action generates a new escalation of tensions in the Korean Peninsula and represents a major challenge to the global peace, the MAEIE's information and media relations service has reported.
Continuation of such actions by the North Korean authorities constitutes a violation of several UN Security Council resolutions, including the Resolution 2321 adopted on 30th of November 2016.
Republic of Moldova fully shares the deep concerns of the international community that these actions are destabilizing the security situation in the Korean peninsula and adjacent regions and urges the authorities in Pyongyang to renounce the nuclear weapons policy and to re-engage in a credible political dialogue with the international community.
