Moldovan diplomacy participates in informal EU foreign ministers' meeting

Chisinau, 08 September /MOLDPRES/ – At the invitation of Estonian counterpart Sven Mikser, whose country holds the presidency of the EU Council, Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Galbur, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, attended the informal meeting of the EU Foreign Ministers, gathered in Gymnich format, and those ones of the Eastern Partnership in Tallinn today.
According to the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and interaction with press service, the Foreign Ministers held an exchange of views on the prospects for the development of the Eastern Partnership, in particular discussing ways to intensify cooperation with the EU, strengthening the resilience of the Eastern partners and cooperation on the security dimension in the context of the EU Global Strategy.
At this meeting, the associated countries advocated for greater visibility of EaP activities by prioritizing actions with a potential impact on citizens. Among the specific objectives promoted by Moldova, jointly for Georgia and Ukraine, there are development of mobility programmes for citizens, enhancement of connectivity through the development of transport and energy infrastructure, implementation of financial support instruments for the business environment, harmonization of digital markets and reduction of roaming taxes.
Similarly, it was mentioned the importance of visionary approach of political perspectives, which, as for other signatory of the Association Agreements, starts with the statutes of its European integration aspirations and recognition of the support of the European development model too.
