US friendship ambassadors Ohio visit parliament of Moldova

Chisinau, 11 September /MOLDPRES/ – Sixteen Ambassadors of Friendship Dayton, Ohio, USA, visited the Parliament of Moldova and discussed with the speaker Andrian Candu, today, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.
During the guided tour of the Legislature building, guests visited the plenary hall, the European Hall, the Parliament Museum, and met with Legislative Speaker, Andrian Candu. The speaker talked about Moldova's legislative process, parliamentarism history, answered many questions and gave them symbolic souvenirs.
At their turn, the guests handed in to the Speaker a letter of thanks to Moldova, signed by the US Congressman, Michael R. Turner, for involvement and participation in the Friendship Force Programmes.
The 16 Ambassadors of Friendship visit Moldova under the Friendship Force Programme Chisinau, implemented by the Creative Development Association (ADC). The purpose of the program is to promote understanding, cultural education and citizenship diplomacy through homestay travel (stay in the home of the hosts) and personal friendships.
The ADC prepared a diverse programme for the 16 Ambassadors of Friendship Force Dayton, Ohio: visits to various institutions and locations in Moldova, such as the Parliament of Moldova, to local authorities, Selemet village school and museum, egg shelling workshop, intercultural evening Moldova – the United States of America and celebration of the culture of Moldova.
The Friendship Force programmes bring different people in the cultures and homes of others to share unique type experiences that are not available to ordinary tourists.
The Friendship Force programme in Moldova was established and has been organized by the ADC since 2013. The ADC hosted Ambassadors of Friendship Force North Carolina, Colorado, California, USA. In 2017 Moldova hosts the Ambassadors of Friendship Force Dayton, Ohio, USA, and in 2018 Friendship Force Germany and Belgium. The Friendship Force International has clubs in over 60 countries, with 15,000 active members and more than 300 trips, yearly. The title of AMBASADOR of friendship is borne by every person involved in the programme: those who visit and whom they host.
