Moldovan speaker pays official visit to Turkey

Chisinau, 12 September /MOLDPRES/- Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu will visit Turkey on 12-14 September, following an invitation of his counterpart, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Ismail Kahraman, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
The officials are to discuss strengthening the Moldovan-Turkish relations at parliamentary level within the friendship group, including international organizations, as well as the efficient cooperation with Gagauz-Yeri.
Candu is accompanied by Speaker of the People’s Assembly in Gagauzia Vladimir Cissa. The parliamentary delegation includes deputy head of the legal commission on rules and immunities, head of Moldova-Turkey friendship group Anatolie Zagorodnii, member of the committee on culture, education, research, youth, sports and media and member of Moldova-Turkey friendship group Nicolai Dudoglo, deputy head of the committee on environment and regional development Nae-Simion Plesca.
The visit to the capital of Turkey will begin with laying flowers at the Anıtkabir Mausoleum in Ankara, built in honor of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, founder of modern Turkey and first President of the Republic.
The visit includes other meetings and an official reception dedicated to the 26th anniversary of independence of Moldova, during which the speaker will meet diaspora and Moldovan diplomatic staff accredited to Ankara.
The Republic of Turkey is one of the main economic partners of our country, as well as donor. Through the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA), projects amounting to 30 million dollars have been implemented in Moldova in such areas as: drinking water, hygiene, health, education and so on.
