Eugen Sturza as Democrats' candidate for position of Defense Minister

Chisinau, 12 September /MOLDPRES/- Eugen Sturza is PD candidate for the position of Defense Minister. The leader of the Democratic Party, Vlad Plahotniuc, made the statement at a briefing today.

Plahotniuc noted that Sturza is the only candidate of the party and if he is rejected by President Igor Dodon, PD will propose him repeatedly. “We already have a decision of the Constitutional Court of January 2017, whereby the president is obliged to nominate a candidate repeatedly nominated”, Plahotniuc said.

Sturza has degree in finance and worked in government in 2009-2013, adviser to Prime Minister of Moldova in Filat government. Subsequently, he served as chief of the cabinet of the premier in government headed by Iurie Leanca. He is currently deputy head of the European People’s Party of Moldova.
