US to support Moldova to increase trade, investment in key sectors

Chisinau, 13 September /MOLDPRES/- The government today decided initiating negotiations and approving the signing of the second amendment of the assistance agreement on development goal between the Moldovan and American governments on trade and investment growth in the key sectors signed in Chisinau on 28 September 2016, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The amendment sees the increase in the total amount of the assistance agreement by 2.28 million dollars, the total amount of the funds reaching 13,154,476 dollars.

The additional funds will be directed to the activities of the new project on “Moldova’s Structural Reforms”, aiming to improve the business environment in Moldova by implementing reforms in the business and tax sectors.

Projects activities will focus on reducing the administrative barriers to entrepreneurship, optimizing the tax system, reducing opportunities for corruption, improving access to information and strengthening dialogue between the public and private sectors.
