Moldovan government to implement action plan to reintegrate citizens back home

Chisinau, 14 September /MOLDPRES/- The action plan for 2017-2020 on reintegration of Moldovan citizens returning from abroad will be published in the Official Journal of Moldova on 15 September.

The document aims at developing programs and services for Moldovans returning from abroad, by providing the necessary support for reintegration. Among the actions on the matter are: improving school reintegration services, youth and elderly programs and measures for employment. Other actions are focused on promoting the possibilities to access the financial funds earmarked for Moldovan citizens returning from abroad, implementing and diversifying programs on attracting remittances to the development of the national economy.

Also, an interministerial committee on diaspora, migration and development was set up and the mechanism for coordinating and implementing state policy was approved by central and local public authorities. Thus, the responsible institutions will apply an integrated approach of diaspora, migration and development to the work programs and will assess the migration impact.

The approved documents aim to ensure the effective implementation of the policy in the field, contribute to increasing the positive effects and reducing the negative effects of migration.
