Record number of Moldovan producers to participate in national wine day in 2017

Chisinau, 14 September /MOLDPRES/ – A record number of producers will participate in the National Wine Day, which will take place on 07 – 08 October 2017, in the Great National Assembly Square (PMAN). At the 16th issue of the traditional event announced their presence 47 wineries, told at a press conference today, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment, Vasile Luca.

Deputy Minister mentioned that the National Wine Day would be titled "We keep the living legend of Moldovan wine". The wine makers will present the newest products which will appear on the market in 2017.

There will be installed exhibition stands of wine producers, a new stand dedicated to moderate consumption, an area devoted to public catering, and an imposing stage in the PMAN for two days. There will also be a fair of popular craftsmen, the Wine School, the Gastronomic Theatre.

The National Wine Day in 2017 will have an eco-responsible character, urging consumers to become friendly to the environment and quality wine, which should be consumed moderately, told at the same event, director of the National Office of Vine and Wine, Gheorghe Arpentin. According to him, Wine School, which will have several workshops, is an important element of moderate wine consumption.

Several delegations from abroad, including three teams of reporters, are expected to participate, especially to discover that event and promote it on the foreign market. For the third consecutive year, the National Wine Festival will be held not only in the PMAN, but also within wineries, said the deputy director of the Moldova Competitiveness Project, Diana Lazar. She added that in 2017 the winemakers of Moldova won about 230 medals at international competitions.

The National Wine Day is organized by the National Vine and Wine Office, Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and the Environment, Association of Producers of Wine Products with PGI Codru, Traian's Wave, Stefan Voda, Divin the strategic partner of the event, the Moldova Competitiveness Project financed by USAID and the Government of Sweden and the general partner Moldova Agroindbank.
