Moldovan economics ministry to launch new programme for small, medium-sized enterprises

Chisinau, 1 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Economics and Infrastructure Ministry works on the elaboration of a new national pilot programme, Green Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) 3, seen to back enterprises from Moldova willing to enforce models of environment-friendly businesses and technologies. The pilot programme is to be approved this year.
The general goal of the programme is to support SMEs in the implementation of environment-friendly practices, carry out less pollutant activities and protect the biodiversity and natural resources.
The programme will have a period of implementation of three years, with three big action groups and will be focused on three key economic benefits as to the ecologization of SMEs and namely: cutting the enterprise’s costs through a better management of resources and waste, improving the enterprise’s image for accessing new sales markets and focusing on the creation of safer jobs from the ecological viewpoint.
At a working meeting, the state secretary at the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry, Iulia Costin, said that this programme would contribute, in particular, to enhancing the competitiveness of SMEs.
The small and medium-sized enterprises account for about 97 per cent of all companies from Moldova.
