Chisinau, 12 September /MOLDPRES/ - Law-enforcers have detained three men from the central Telenesti town aged between 34 and 55 years, being suspected of trafficking of people in Russia on purposes of sexual exploitation.
Following investigations, law-enforcers found out that the suspected would have lured six young women from Telenesti, Falesti and Ialoveni and would have carried them to Russia, where they were exploited sexually and commercially. The young women were aged between 20 and 24 years.
Initially, the victims were lured through fraud, as they were promised jobs. After coming to destination, in a foreign state and moneyless, the girls had to provide sexual services against payment.
Searches have been recently made at the homes of the three suspects and a line for producing alcohol was found at the home of one of the suspects. As a result, 150 litres of alcohol and 48 bottles of cognac with excise stamps were raised. The alcohol was to be sold in Russia.
Two criminal files were opened on this case for trafficking of people and pimping and the suspects were detained for 72 hours. If found guilty, they run the risk of being punished with 7-15 years of imprisonment.
