Chisinau, 28 February /MOLDPRES/ - A group of businesspeople from Turkey are willing to build a farm for breeding cattle and a slaughter house in Moldova. Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Minister Ion Perju and eventual investors discussed prospects of this investment on 27 February.
The Turkish businesspeople said that they were ready to assume the costs for the entire investment. They asked for the meeting at the competent ministry, in order to unveil the project idea, as well as discuss the authorities’ willingness to carry out a joint project.
In another context, the eventual investors stressed that they were interested in the construction of an enterprise for producing tractors, as they know that there are no enterprise for making tractors in Moldova and the old equipment is already obsolete.
„This is a good idea. Regretfully, Moldova imports 25 per cent of the beef. We are interested in slaughtering on the spot and the export of products with already value added. I want to say that, this year, we will subsidize the sector per head of animal. We will analyze and discuss how we can develop a project concept,” Ion Perju said.
The sides established that they would study in detail each project and would involve in dialogue also other interested actors, including farmers.
