Moldovan head of state says United States confirms that former leader of Moldova's Democratic Party on its territory

Chisinau, 28 February /MOLDPRES/ - The competent bodies will address the partners from the United States to ask for the extradition of the former leader of Moldova’s Democratic Party (PDM), Vlad Plahotniuc. President Igor Dodon has made statements to this effect at the programme titled, President Answers.

„Several days ago, I discussed with representatives of the USA, who confirmed that Plahotniuc is in the United States. A criminal file is opened against Plahotniuc in Moldova; the country’s competent bodies on the days to come will address the partners form the USA to extradite Plahotniuc to Moldova,” Dodon said.

The former PDM leader, Vlad Plahotniuc, left Moldova in June 2019, after the Democrats had given up power.
