Meeting of working groups for education held in Tiraspol

Chisinau, 29 February /MOLDPRES/ - A meeting of the working groups for education was held at the Tiraspol-based headquarters of the OSCE Mission in Moldova on 28 February, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.  

The delegation on behalf of Chisinau was led by the state secretary in the education sector, coordinator of the working group Natalia Grau.   

The experts discussed results of the joint inspections, carried out on 21-22 August 2019, in order to assess the conditions of work of five education institutions where the subjects are taught in Romanian, which rent buildings from local structures and economic agents of the Transnistrian region. The experts stressed the need to observe the anti-fire security norms, in line with the recommendations formulated by competent specialists.   

At the same time, the experts reiterated the indispensability of providing the Latin-script schools from the Transnistrian region with proper headquarters for the carrying out of the education process; a priority is the return of the building of the Evrica theoretical lyceum from the Rabnita city, placed on the Gagarin Street 14, as well the offering of a building for the Stefan cel Mare theoretical lyceum in the Grigoriopol town, as pupils and teachers have to daily cover a distance of 24 km to Dorotcaia village. 

The Tiraspol representatives re-tackled aspects dealing with the over-legalization of the education diplomas released in the Transnistrian region; in the context, the experts from the right bank of Dniester set forth the procedures and steps needed to be undertaken to this end, by specifying the differences as to the apostilling of the neutral-model acts.   

The experts also discussed other aspects from the education sector.  

The next meeting of the working groups will take place in Chisinau.
