Over 4,100 homes purchased under First Home program

Chisinau, 2 March /MOLDPRES/- A number of 4,108 young people have got their own home due to the First Home Program, launched by the government in 2018. The total amount of loans granted by banks is 2,053 billion lei, and the active guarantees account for 1.026 billion lei.
Out of the 4,108 beneficiaries, 2,882 are families, and 1,226 - unmarried young people, their average age being 31.2 years. Also, out of the total number of beneficiaries, 580 persons benefit from compensations from the state budget under the program First Home 2, 1471 - the program First Home 3, and 285 - the First Home 4 program, sources in the Finance Ministry said.
The average area of the homes purchased through the Program is 59.926 square meters, and the average value of the homes purchased is 592.1 thousand lei. Of the total number of homes purchased, 3852 houses are in urban areas, and 256 - in rural areas. 3,788 are apartments, and 320 - individual dwellings.
The Ministry of Finance will come in the near future with legislative changes aimed at expanding opportunities to access the First Home Program, maintaining the workforce in the country, boosting economic growth and reducing the underground economy.
The beneficiary of the governmental program First Home can be a citizen of the Republic of Moldova, aged between 18 and 45, who is officially employed at a state institution or a private company in the country and has income from official sources.
