Moldovan PM announces new increase in wages for state employees

Chisinau, 2 March /MOLDPRES/- The salaries of several categories of employees, including teachers and doctors, could be increased in the second half of this year.
Prime Minister Ion Chicu made the statement on his Facebook page. He said that this is possible due to the increase of the revenues of the national public budget in the first two months of the year, by 1 billion 200 million lei. The figure represents the increase of the budget revenues in the first two months of 2020 compared to 2019.
“The Republic of Moldova accumulates from taxes daily about 30 million lei more than last year. If the virus-related hysteria will not make us unpleasant surprises at regional and global economic level, this dynamic of the budgetary receipts will allow us to come for the second part of the year with a new increase of the salaries of the teachers, doctors and other state employees ”, he said. He noted that a support project could be launched for Moldovans, who come from abroad and are officially employed. "From July 1 we intend to create a bank deposit account for each of our nationals who came back from abroad, who are officially employed. The amount of the monthly subsidy from the state - up to 20% of the declared official salary ”, wrote Ion Chicu.
Lastly, the wages of several categories of state employees were increased on January 1, 2020.
