Money from Russia to reach Chisinau in first half of April - PM says

Chisinau, 2 March /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Ion Chicu announced that Chisinau government will conclude the negotiations for the credit from the Russian Federation this week.
Chicu said that the first installment will be 200 million euros. "The loan will be granted for 10 years, with an interest rate of 2%. The money must come in the first half of April, ”Chicu said. He noted that the money from the Russian loan will be meant for road rehabilitation programs.
In total, according to calculations by the cabinet, about 250 km of roads in Moldova will be renovated from the Russian credit. Following his visit to Moscow, in November 2019, Chicu said that Moldova will get a loan of 500 million dollars. Subsequently, President Igor Dodon said that the money will be used to repair several roads in the country.
