Chisinau, 2 March /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Alexandru Flenchea today participated in a commemoration rally in the Cosnita village, eastern Dubasari district, on the occasion of the Memory Day, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.
In his speech, Alexandru Flenchea said: „Twenty eight year have passed. More generations of young people were educated, who know about the 1992 tragedy only from history. Proposals on giving up the Transnistrian region have started appearing in public more and more openly. There have been tens of surveys showing that the settlement is not a priority.
Nevertheless, we must recall what happened 28 years ago. We should keep alive the memory of those who sacrificed their lives and health, fighting for an indivisible, free and prosperous country. We must continue reintegrating our motherland bit by bit. We should do everything, so that nobody never allows the repeating of the catastrophe which unleashed on 2 March 1992.
We are a single country, we have a common history, a common grief and we certainly can jointly find a solution.
In the memory of those who died in 1992, in the memory of those 287 fighters, honouring the children who lost their parents, the parents who lost their children, we continue the effort for the country’s reintegration,” Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Alexandru Flenchea said.
The official thanked the residents of Cosnita and the other settlements from the left bank of Dniester under Chisinau’s jurisdiction for patriotism and dignity they have proved during years. Alexandru Flenchea also went to the graves of the Cosnita residents who died in 1992.
