Chisinau, 4 March /MOLDPRES/- Several companies in Turkey, the Czech Republic and Poland have expressed interest in investing in airports in Balti and Marculești.
Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Anatol Usatîi said in a TV show on Tuesday that the development of the airports in Balti and Marculești remains a priority on the government's agenda.
It is not yet clear whether both airports will be reopened, or only one of them will be selected.
According to the official, public tenders will be held to nominate companies to work out feasibility studies and consultancy. "Unfortunately, we have no experience and local experts to guide us in the development of an airport. There are many consulting companies in Europe in this regard, which means we have to address international companies ”, Usatîi said.
In December last year, Prime Minister Ion Chicu said that from 2020, low-cost flights from the north of the Republic of Moldova could be launched.
