Moldovan PM meets mayor

Chisinau, 4 March /MOLDPRES/- Today Prime Minister Ion Chicu had a discussion with Chisinau mayor Ion Ceban. The mayor informed the premier about the projects of the city hall to modernize and expand road infrastructure of the capital, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The city hall is going to purchase 100 buses from Belarus by late 2020 to enhance the quality of public transport in the city. The buses will be assembled in Chisinau on the platform of the municipal bus park, thus providing more jobs. The transport units will be well equipped and accessible to people with special needs. After approval of the purchase in the Municipal Council, the procedure will be launched and the first buses will reach Moldova in June.
Ceban spoke about the city hall's intention to assemble 50 new trolleybuses in Chisinau and to arrange 10 thousand car parking spaces.
The prime minister welcomed the municipality's plans: "The problem of passenger transport in Chisinau municipality must be solved quickly and effectively. It was too long ignored and now public transport in the capital often causes discontent. ”
The short and long term solutions to the water treatment plant in Chisinau were discussed. Ion Ceban spoke about the actions that are being taken and the scenario planned by the city hall to solve the problem.
