More than 15,000 pupils from all over Moldova to develop abilities in IT, robotics

Chisinau, 4 March /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 45 education institutions from Moldova, of which 26 from rural settlements, have been endowed with sets of education robotics on behalf of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Sweden and UK Aid.
A ceremony on the delivery of the robotics sets took place at the Clasa Viitorului (Future’s Class) National Centre of Digital Innovations in Education at the Ion Creanga State Pedagogical University, in the presence of more officials.
Attending the event, Education, Culture and Research Minister Corneliu Popovici has said that the extension of this project would allow providing needed support for the integration of innovative models of education in all schools from Moldova. “The extension of the educational robotics project will provide to those over 15,000 pupils who received the sets opportunity to develop their creativeness, capacity for team work and the critical thinking,” Popovici said.
The endowment of schools with sets of educational robotics is part of a programme carried out by the Moldova Competitiveness Project, financed by the United States, Sweden and the United Kingdom. This project backs the development of education in sciences, technology, engineering and mathematics, which enhances young people’s interest in engineering sectors.
